Birdcage Stands
Advice on a birdcage, Which would you choose?
We have a yellow naped amazon. He is 17 and for the past 17 years has been in the same cage. Over time it’s fallen apart a little. The door latch is missing, the seed catchers have disappeared. Nothing too big, but with having a baby girl who is Very curious, and figuring out how to stand up.. Maybe it’s time to replace it.
We would like a cage that is at least 40 inches wide with spacing of 1 inch. and we have found these two.
I love how the top one has a play area on top as he is always climbing out of his cage to play. However the second seems to offer quite a bit more room. I, honestly, am more inclined to buy the second, however I am not so sure if those extra few inches is worth the 400 dollars…
I just don’t know.
Which would you choose?

Hi, I am glad you are so picky with your cages. I would normally say to go with the largest version but in this case the larger cage costs almost double of the smaller cage. For those $400 you would spend on that larger cage you can get a good deal for an entire extra large play area that you could put beside the cage or even put on a different spot in the room. They have those play areas on a stand with rollers and you could buy that instead for those extra $400. You would have then more play area for the birds. I don’t know how much time your birds spend inside of the cage. My birds’ cage door is open the first thing in the morning and they hang out outside and on top of the cage the entire day and play with their toys and ropes, bathe etc…They just climb back in to get some food and water and then they get out again. I give my birds all the freedom they can get. I would say go with the smaller one and buy with the $400 that you saved an extra play area and some nice new toys or make toys yourself for that play area. You will have much more out of your money and the birds will be happy about the extra play space outside. Have fun shopping!
